Summary: | The COVID-19 pandemic that spread globally has given a significant impact on all groups, one of them is urban areas workers. As one of the groups that has a fairly high intensity of movement, the COVID-19 pandemic also affected their intention to travel, especially travel to work. This study aims to identify and analyze the main factors that concern urban areas workers affected by COVID-19 pandemic on their intention to travel to work in the new normal era based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) approach and the use of the Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results of this study, it was found that the latent variable of subjective norms had a significant and most dominant influence on the formation of workers intention in traveling to work. In addition, the latent variable of attitude showed a significant influence, but the latent variable of perceived behavioral control did not show a significant effect on the formation of workers intention in traveling to work. All indicators (manivests) in this study showed significant impact on its latent variables. Awareness to participate in preventing the spread of COVID-19 became the most dominant indicator in the subjective norm variable, the vaccination issues especially those stating that vaccines help not to be exposed to COVID-19 became the most dominant indicator in the attitude variable, meanwhile concerns about being exposed to COVID-19 became the most dominant indicator in the perceived behavioral control variable. This study can provide insight regarding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and also useful for providing information to the government in making policies during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
