Summary: | Telkom Directorate of Digital Business prioritizes technology as a support in
supporting company performance. In supporting the company's activities, Telkom
DDB performs talent outsourcing or a labour recruitment system, one of which is
for practical work activities. In practical work activities at Telkom the Digital
Business Directorate, an information system design has been carried out to assist
in managing practical work student activities. Because the information system
design process is still at the design development stage, it is necessary to ensure that
the planned design has gone through a testing process, one of which is the usability
to obtain the best results.
This study aims to improve usability evaluation of the system. A formative
evaluation was conducted on 15 students as test participants and asked to complete
the test task. In the practical work system testing, there are 6 tasks completed by
the participants. Each data from the task is processed according to the parameters
used, namely effectiveness, efficiency, satisfaction level and is equipped with eye
tracking and retrospective thinking-aloud (RTA) measurements. The effectiveness
parameter is measured using the success rate, efficiency is measured using the
lostness, and user satisfaction is measured using the system usability scale (SUS)
value.
The results showed that prototype of the practical work information system of
Telkom's Digital Business Directorate was not yet fully effective because task 2 had
an effectiveness value of 33.33%. The Telkom DDB KP system is also not fully
efficient because tasks 2 and 3 have lostness 0.580 and 0.420. The results of the
average system usability scale (SUS) score of 62.5 indicate that the system needs
to be improved. Error data, retrospective thinking aloud, and eye tracker are used
to find out in detail the problematic task elements so that a proposed improvement
design is made. There are 19 proposed improvements for prototype of the Telkom
DDB practical work information system.
