ANALYSIS OF CHARACTERIZATION AND ACCURACY OF ELECTROCARDIOGRAM RR INTERVAL IN NORMA HEART CONDITIONS OF 6-LEAD PORTABLE DEVICES

Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the world. A tool that can detect a person's heart condition is known as an electrocardiograph (EKG). Technological developments encourage innovation in the world of health, including EKG devices. This tool innovation resulted in a portable devi...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/68567 Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the world. A tool that can detect a person's heart condition is known as an electrocardiograph (EKG). Technological developments encourage innovation in the world of health, including EKG devices. This tool innovation resulted in a portable device with a lead count of less than 12-leads. One of these portable ECG devices is the Kardia Mobile 6-lead consisting of leads I, II, III, aVR, aVF, and aVL. This research aims to characterize the ECG signal in terms of the RR interval and to determine the ability of Kardia Mobile 6-lead to interpret the condition of the heart based on the ECG signal. The ECG signal is measured from 10 subjects (22-46 years old) with normal heart conditions by the ECG device for 30 seconds per subject. The research method is quantitative by analyzing the characterization and accuracy of the 6-lead ECG signal from Kardia Mobile compared to the 12-lead clinical ECG (SE-1201). There are five stages of the digitized signal ECG. These are scanning, crop region of interest, image binarization, pixel-to vector conversion, and plotting. The digitized ECG signal was analyzed using the heart rate variability (HRV) method based on the time domain. The variables analyzed were the mean and standard deviation, as well as the root mean square of successive differences from the RR interval. The results of the characterization analysis of Kardia Mobile 6-lead for each variable from the smallest value to the largest were 0.617±0.028 s - 0.765±0.013 s and 0.002 – 0.026 s. Meanwhile, the same variables for the 12-lead SE-1201 were 0.623±0.037 s – 0.879±0.018 s and 0.015 – 0.086 s. The comparison results from the accuracy analysis using the difference (%) obtaining the average difference and the average square error of the six leads are 12% and 0.011. Thus, we can conclude that there is no significant difference between the characteristics of the 6-lead Kardia Mobile and the 12-lead SE-1201 ECG signal, evidenced by the average p-value of the six leads of 0.303 > 0.05. In addition, the 6-lead Kardia Mobile can interpret heart health conditions with a difference value (%) still in the <20% threshold range. text
