The increase in population is very fast, accompanied by an increase in demand for clean water supplies, resulted in the amount of clean water being produced having to increase rapidly so that the existing installations could not meet these needs. This is the impetus for planning the development of the Deli Tua Water Treatment Plant (IPA) with the planning for the construction of a new WTP. In the analysis of water demand so that the goal of RISPAM Medan City is achieved 100% service, it is necessary to lack the WTP capacity of 900 liters per second. For raw water, it is taken from the Deli River which crosses the IPA planning area. The development period is carried out in two stages, namely the first stage until 2032 at 600 liters per second and in 2042 at 300 liters per second. In selecting the best alternative for the new IPA configuration, the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method was used. Then the selected alternative units were obtained, consisting of a bar screen unit, coagulation using a static mixer, a clariflocculator, rapid sand filtration, and disinfection with chlorine injection. The total minimum land area required for the construction of the second phase of the new WTP is 9,383 m². text |
