Description
Summary:This study aims to design bubble wrap waste into a fashion product that has commercial value, in this case, a tote bag fashion design product—focusing on material development, characteristics, and processing techniques of LDPE bubble wrap plastic. The method begins with literature studies, material experiments, preference testing, product designing, product realization, and evaluation. The experimental process was carried out by heating bubble wrap using an ironing machine with a temperature of 200°C and with a duration of 10 seconds so that the material was found to be smooth (not wrinkled), thick, not hollow, and firm. The design of the tote bag is based on the results of preference tests on 52 SMEs as respondents and in the end produces a smooth, flexible, and firm texture. As for design preferences, there are additional extra pockets with additional quotes. Then for the endurance test, the tote bag is able to accommodate a load of 1 -2 kg and will tear when it holds a load of more than 2 kg
