INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/68645 Named Data Networking is a promising candidate for future internet architecture, but its forwarding strategy has not been thoroughly explored. Exploration of NDN generally still uses simulators. This research uses an emulator in the form of Mini- NDN to get closer to natural conditions. The research aims to implement various forwarding strategies on the Mini-NDN emulator. Theoretically, the best route strategy will choose the best route but has the potential for poor round-trip time because of retransmission; the multicast strategy will forward the packet to all upstream links, resulting in low round-trip time but high bandwidth; the access router strategy is a middle ground of the trade-off between multicast strategy and best route strategy; and the ASF strategy is designed to choose the lowest-RTT route. This research also aims to measure the round-trip time, packet loss percentage, and throughput. Those will then be compared with theoretical concepts and used for usage recommendations. The results show that the ASF and best route strategy produce low round-trip time values, the multicast strategy can be used in scenarios that require low packet loss, the multicast strategy is not suitable for scenarios with limited link bandwidth, and ASF and best route strategies can be use in limited link bandwidth scenario. text
