Summary: | The covid-19 pandemic has motivated adapting new production processes in the
Make-to-Order (MTO) industry. The limitation of workers in the workplace pushes
the company to adjust its production activity control system. This research aim is
to identify the requirement of real-time mobile production activity control and
develop applications for mobile devices.
The designing process of the system includes identifying requirements and functions
in the production activity control system, developing mobile device applications
and IoT, and system testing.
The identification result shows that three functions are required: 1) dispatching, 2)
processing, and 3) monitoring. The functions are coded into an application in the
Android operating system and web service. The Android application is built with
MVVM architecture and tested on device with OS 6.0.1 (marshmallow). Integration
with the ERP system database is built and consumed by the web service via API to
collect production data. Initial implementation at CV CSM shows that the
developed application can be used as real-time mobile production activity control.
The system provides a dashboard information of: 1) machine status, 2) operator
status, 3) assignment activity, and 4) order tracking. The testing on the production
monitoring system shows that IoT can acquire assignment data seamlessly and
increase the precision of the acquired data if there is no disturbance, such as
disturbance in connection and power outage.
