PRIMATE HABITAT SUITABILITY ANALYSIS USING SATELLITE IMAGERY IN GUNUNG TILU NATURE RESERVE, WEST JAVA
Gunung Tilu Nature Reserve (CAGT) is a release site for West Java endemic primates such as the Javan Lutung (Trachypithecus auratus), Surili (Presbytis comata), and Javan Gibbon (Hylobates moloch). This is because the CAGT area has stable environmental conditions both from the availability of abunda...

Therefore, it is necessary to study the suitability of their habitat to support primate release activities to increase the population of Java endemic primates. This study aims to determine the most influential biophysical factors in the suitability of the habitat of Javan endemic primates in CAGT and to determine the suitability of the habitats of Javan endemic primates. The research was carried out using observation methods in finding meeting points for Javan endemic primates and modeling the suitability of Javan endemic primate habitats with a weighting method using principal component analysis (PCA) based on habitat variables in the form of NDVI values, altitude, slope, distance from the river, and distance from the road which then followed. made into a map. The results showed that the altitude and distance from the river were the most essential factors in the suitability of the habitat of Java's endemic primates in CAGT. The habitat suitability model for Java endemic primates is classified into three classes. The habitat class of high suitability is 2949.8 ha, medium suitability is 3060.1 ha, and low suitability is 1201.01 ha. The Javan endemic primate habitat suitability model has a validation level of 55.55%. text |
