The East Java Basin is a productive basin and one of Indonesia's largest oil and
gas reservoirs. The "ACP" field is located in the East Java Basin and is included in
the North Madura Carbonate Platform complex. Stratigraphically, this field is
included in the Kujung Formation of the East Java Basin. The Kujung Formation
is a limestone hydrocarbon reservoir. Due to the considerable hydrocarbon
potential, this study aims to determine the reservoir characteristics of the Kujung
Formation.
Using seismic inversion, we can find the distribution of acoustic impedance in each
layer which is more interpretive in mapping the subsurface conditions. The
polynomial relationship between the two acoustic impedances and the log porosity
is used to estimate the value of rock porosity in the Kujung I Formation. The
inversion results show a variation of the acoustic impedance value from low to high
so that it can classify the reservoir body in the form of Carbonate Reef Build Up
starting from the carbonate platform, main porous zone, up to the upper tighter
zone. The porosity in the "ACP" field can be predicted from the impedance value
