Summary: | CV Cipta Sinergi Manufacturing (CSM) is a company engaged in the manufacturing industry using the Make-to-Order (MTO) production system. There are 2 main stages carried out, namely the pre-order and order. In the pre-order stage, CV CSM generates a CAD model of the workpiece, estimates the manufacturing process along with processing time, and temporary scheduling. The generation of the CAD model is a time-consuming process, i.e. 3 to 4 hours between processes at the pre-order. In addition, the estimation activities of the manufacturing process and processing time are still based on the experience of the operator so that the results sometimes do not match. It is known that the number of orders that are repeated or have similarity is quite high. Data from the workpiece can be reused by CV CSM. In the manufacturing industry, it is often found that data from old workpieces is used for reuse, such as reuse of designs or using manufacturing process data as a reference for similar workpieces.
A framework has been developed by Leila Zehtaban to compare the similarity of a workpiece with other workpieces. By doing a little development of this model, a workpiece search system was created according to the conditions of CV CSM. The search begins with the worker inputting general information on the workpiece. Next, the workpiece is translated into an opitz code based on that information. The workpiece opitz code is compared with other opitz codes and the similarity level is calculated with the similarity coefficient. The workpiece with the highest similarity level will be selected and the manufacturing process data used as a reference for the workpiece. This system is connected to a scheduling system so that it can produce a faster estimated completion time of pre-orders |
