Among the existing transportation options, sea transportation is a type of transportation that already exists and continues to develop along with human development itself. The Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) states that by 2022, 90% of world trade commodities are delivered by sea, and the volume will triple by 2050. This shows the importance of sea transportation as the main wheel of world economic development. Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 18 of 2020 concerning the National Medium Term Development Plan for 2020-2024 which aims to improve the quality and competitiveness of Indonesian Ports. Among the existing development plans, one of which is the Batu Ampar North Berth, Batam, Riau Islands. This final project will discuss the design of a container Berth at the northern Berth of Batu Ampar Harbor with a deck on pile type of per. This design will be based on the Technical Standards and Commentaries for Port and Harbor Facilities in Japan from The Overseas Coastal Area Development Institute of Japan (OCDI) 2020, the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The design work in this final project will be carried out by processing secondary data, and modeling with SAP 2000 software, calculating structural elements, analyzing soil bearing capacity, and estimating the cost per volume of the wharf. The results of the SAP2000 software modeling will be iterated to get the optimal UCR value (0.8 – 1.0), and the deflection value that meets the deflection permit limit. The output of the modeling such as the bearing reaction will be used for the calculation of the soil bearing capacity analysis. The volume of reinforcement and material in the wharf generated after calculation and modeling will be used for calculating the cost per volume of the wharf. The results of the design of the Berth are the dimensions of the Berth as long as 285 m with a width of 23 m. The wharf is planned to have an elevation of +4.5 m from the LWS, and a water depth of – 13.5 from the LWS. The structural elements planned for the berth include plates, beams, piles, and pile caps. The piles chosen after optimization are piles with a diameter of 700 mm and a thickness of 20 mm which based on the analysis of the bearing capacity of the soil will be driven as far as 18.5 m from the sea bed. The total cost per volume generated from the structure is Rp.390,292,254,862. The results of this final project are the design of the berth plan with OCDI standards, mooring facilities, dimensions of the structural elements of the berth, the design of reinforcement for the structural elements of the berth, the depth of pile driving, and the estimated cost per volume of the berth. text |
