ANALYSIS OF DOMINANT FACTORS AND CONVERGENCE OF SINGULAR VALUE USING PRINCIPAL COMPONENT ANALYSIS CASE STUDY: LAND COVER CHANGE IN EAST JAVA
Land cover is the condition of the observed biophysical appearance of the earth's surface. From 2013 to 2018, land cover in East Java underwent various changes caused by physical and economic factors. The many factors that cause land cover changes require extensive and complex calculations. Pri...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/68969 Land cover is the condition of the observed biophysical appearance of the earth's surface. From 2013 to 2018, land cover in East Java underwent various changes caused by physical and economic factors. The many factors that cause land cover changes require extensive and complex calculations. Principal component analysis reduces the dimensions of correlated random variables to new uncorrelated random variables. The variables used in this study are elevation, slope, curvature, distance to the main road, distance to the capital city, distance to settlements, distance to Blitar, distance to Mojokerto, distance to Pasuruan, distance to Probolinggo, distance to Madiun, and distance to Surabaya. The transformation is done first to get more symmetrical data. There are eight variations of the data processed in this study, namely 1%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70% of the data population (n = 44,066,621). The percentage of data information absorption in the sample difference up to KU5 is 80.439% - 80.469%. This value is similar to the data absorption in the data population of 80.439%. The analysis results show that economic factors are the main factors for land cover changes in East Java. text |
