The issue of accessibility became important by moving the high-speed rail final station to Padalarang. This study aims to identify the factors that most influence the mode choice of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail by developing binomial logit model. Data was collected using stated preference methods, through questionnaires distributed online with the target respondents being people who had traveled from Jakarta to Bandung and assumed the respondent's condition without the pandemic. Data analysis in this study utilizes Biogeme software which is designed to create a model with model parameter specifications and likelihood functions using the Python programming language. The binomial logit model is built by comparing the high-speed rail with each of the conventional train, shuttle travel, and car modes. The results for each mode comparison shows that the factors that influence the mode choice of high-speed rail against conventional train are significant to the factors of access costs and fares; then mode choice of highspeed rail against shuttle travel is significant to the factors of access costs, fares, and egress time; and lastly the mode choice of high-speed rail against cars is significant for all factors, namely, access costs, fares, egress costs, access travel times, mode travel times, and egress travel times. From the overall results, there are indications that cars still have the potential to be preferred to travel from Jakarta to Bandung when the high-speed rail is operating. text |

The construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail is one of the efforts to
develop public transportation infrastructure in Indonesia by building the first
railway with high-speed technology in Indonesia. The issue of accessibility
became important by moving the high-speed rail final station to Padalarang. This
study aims to identify the factors that most influence the mode choice of the
Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail by developing binomial logit model. Data was
collected using stated preference methods, through questionnaires distributed
online with the target respondents being people who had traveled from Jakarta to
Bandung and assumed the respondent's condition without the pandemic. Data
analysis in this study utilizes Biogeme software which is designed to create a
model with model parameter specifications and likelihood functions using the
Python programming language. The binomial logit model is built by comparing
the high-speed rail with each of the conventional train, shuttle travel, and car
modes. The results for each mode comparison shows that the factors that
influence the mode choice of high-speed rail against conventional train are
significant to the factors of access costs and fares; then mode choice of highspeed
rail against shuttle travel is significant to the factors of access costs, fares,
and egress time; and lastly the mode choice of high-speed rail against cars is
significant for all factors, namely, access costs, fares, egress costs, access travel
times, mode travel times, and egress travel times. From the overall results, there
are indications that cars still have the potential to be preferred to travel from
Jakarta to Bandung when the high-speed rail is operating. |
