If it s existing in environment exceed the maximum capacity, it could defects the environment. Because of that, special treatment is needed to degrade them into some environmentally friendly compounds. This research was aimed to analyze the performance of mixed culture Rhizopetrophylic in degradation process of hydrocarbon compounds which exist in petroleum sludge waste. As from this, the biodegradation process includes addition of bi surfactant produced by Azotobacter vinelandii.

The method used in this research is biodegradation process in batch reactor and bioremediation reactor. While the parameters being measured are microorganism cell viability using Spectrophotometer method and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon using Gravimetric method. Bio surfactant, produced by Azotobacter vinelandii, aimed to make the surface tension between bacteria cell and substrate wider to get the effective process.

The most optimum degradation process of hydrocarbons compounds showed by reactor with an adjustment of mixed culture Rhizopetrophylic and surfactant producing bacteria at the sludge 5% content of 1.43% TPH with efficiency of 98.73%. The growth kinetic in this research is attained m = 0.11942 day 1 and Ks = 0.72% (7,200 mg/L). From this parameter it can be deducted that the mixed culture R posses high affinity. The specific growth rate for the bacteria has a value of 0.0482 day 1. Degradation declining rate of TPH in bioremediation cell with substrat augmentation of sludge 5% content of 1.62% TPH has a value of 0,0613 day1. Efficiency of TPH degradation in bioremediation cell is 44.65%.
text
