An example of exploitative management of natural resources is the use of sloped land as agricultural land. Land cover on slope >15% and riparian condition are important aspects of watershed management. Land management in a watershed can be seen from the land use which is reflected in the land cover. Effort to increase the carrying capacity of the watershed can be done through forest and land rehabilitation in the watershed which is the obligation of IPPKH and the Ministerial Decree on the Release of Forest Areas due to the exchange of forest areas holders. PT Adaro Indonesia is a holder of IPPKH and obliged to carry out forest and land rehabilitation. One of the rehabilitation areas is in Sileng sub-watershed which is part of Progo watershed. This study aims to determine the distribution of land cover, evaluate the land cover on slope >15%, evaluate the land cover in the riparian zone of the Sileng sub-watershed, and spatially evaluate PT Adaro Indonesia’s forest and land rehabilitation sites. The analysis was carried out using Geographic Information System (GIS). The results of the analysis show that the land cover class of the Sileng sub-watershed consist of forest with an area of 1.563,69 ha (51,2%), dry land seasonal crops 430,73 ha (14,1%), settlements 377.7 ha (12,4%), mixed garden and crops 369,71 ha (12,1%), rice fields 243,99 ha (8%), shrubs 38 ha (1,2%), and river 28,36 ha (0,9%). Land covers that have the potential to increase erosion on slope >15% are dry land seasonal crops, settlements, and rice fields which have proportion 13,7% of the total land area with slope >15%. Riparian conditions in the Sileng sub-watershed have the potential to reduce river quality because 26,73% of the total area of riparian zone segmens is dry land seasonal crops, rice fields, and settlements. PT Adaro Indonesia's watershed rehabilitation sites are dominated by forest land cover (89.21%), mostly (88.87%) are on slopes >15%, and only 3.61% of the planting sites are riparian zones. text |
