OPTIMIZATION OF RED TILAPIA (OREOCHROMIS SP.) BUSINESS ACTIVITIES WITH BIOECONOMICS APPROACH IN KANGPUJ FARM, CIPARAY, BANDUNG REGENCY
Tilapia is one of the largest aquaculture commodities in Indonesia by producing 1,172,633 tons in 2020 and the largest producer is the province of West Java which produces 256,537 tons. In 2016, there were 350,660 households involved in aquaculture in West Java and many of them were MSMEs (Micro, Sm...

In 2016, there were 350,660 households involved in aquaculture in West Java and many of them were MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises). One of the MSMEs is Kangpuj Farm, which is located in Ciparay, Bandung Regency. This UMKM produces red tilapia (Oreochromis sp.) and sells it in the form of processed fish seasoning. This is done to increase the selling value of the product and profit margins. The obstacles experienced by Kangpuj Farm and most other MSMEs are equipment and labor that are still inadequate so that water quality checks and fish sampling are still qualitative. Therefore, a quantitative check is carried out to see the quality of the pond water. Data on dissolved oxygen levels, water temperature, and pH were taken using a DO meter and a pH meter by taking water samples six times in two round pools with a diameter of 1.7 meters and a height of 1 meter using an aerator. Meanwhile, data on levels of total ammonia, total phosphate, nitrite, and nitrate were obtained from the results of tests at the Bandung City Environmental Center Laboratory. In addition, we also want to know the growth pattern of fish by measuring the length and weight of red tilapia. Data on length and weight of fish were obtained by measuring the length and weighing of red tilapia using a digital meter and scale on 10 individual red tilapia from the 30, 60, 90, 120, and 150 day cultivation age groups. The results of measurements of water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, total ammonia, and total phosphate, nitrate and nitrite were 24.2 ± 0.6 oC, 3.02 ± 0.59 mg/L, 7.5 ± 0.2, 0.561 mg/L, 3.8 mg /L, 3.07 mg/L, and < 0.003 mg/L. All water quality test parameters showed good results based on the literature except water temperature and dissolved oxygen levels. Then analyzed also the length-weight relationship of red tilapia based on the general equation W=aLb is W=0.1114L2.39009 which indicates that the growth pattern of fish is negative allometric because the value of b < 3. This is presumably due to the environment (water temperature and dissolved oxygen content). ) and the protein content of the feed was less than optimal. In this study, harvest time was also measured to achieve fish weight in accordance with the age of biological maturity of fish and market demand, namely 200, 250, and 333 grams/individual fish with a fish growth model which was then carried out with a bioeconomic approach to see the greatest profit that could be generated in one year. year. As a result, the time needed for individual red tilapia to reach a weight of 200, 250, and 333 grams was 154, 182, and 223 days. The bioeconomic model produces a model that is = -0.158tb3 + 209.76tb2 + 4.319.85tb + 921.331.2 where is profit (Rp) and tb is cultivation time (days). The biggest annual profit is obtained when cultivating tilapia up to a size of 250 grams/individual, which is Rp. 15,406,240.79. This is due to the cultivation time which only takes 182 days, so it can be harvested twice in one year. text |
