RECONSTRUCTION OF GROUNDWATER SYSTEMS IN THE WAWONII SOUTH PART, KONAWE ISLANDS, SOUTH SULAWESI

Based on ESDM data in 2017, Wawonii Island is a non-groundwater basin area. The research was conducted with the objectives of (1) knowing the groundwater system of the southern part of Wawonii Island which is a non-CAT area (2) knowing the pattern of groundwater flow in the southern part of Wawonii,...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/69031 Based on ESDM data in 2017, Wawonii Island is a non-groundwater basin area. The research was conducted with the objectives of (1) knowing the groundwater system of the southern part of Wawonii Island which is a non-CAT area (2) knowing the pattern of groundwater flow in the southern part of Wawonii, and (3) knowing locations with potential groundwater that can be used as supporting facilities. mining operations. The research was conducted using a combination of geophysical and hydrogeological methods. Retrieval of geophysical methods of resistivity geophysics data, a hydrogeological survey of spring mapping, physical properties (temperature, Ph, TDS, EC, salinity, turbidity, and DO) core drilling, and groundwater level. The analysis was carried out on 3 sub-watersheds, namely the Roko-Roko sub-watershed, the Nambo Jaya sub-watershed, and the Masolo sub-watershed. Based on the results of geophysical analysis, the subsurface sections of the three sub-watersheds show resistivity values with a classification of 0.97 – 50 ?.m which is clay and hollow limestone or metamorphic limestone with clay inserts. Resistivity 55 – 159 ?.m is hollow limestone or metamorphic limestone that filled with water. Resistivity 191 – 4300 ?.m is limestone or metamorphic limestone which is impermeable to water and 4500 – 19213.96 ?.m is hollow limestone or metamorphic limestone that is not filled with other materials or fluids. High resistivity values, which are more than 19213.96 ?.m on average, are found in the Roko-Roko sub-watershed. There are warm springs, namely Sp-06 and Sp-12 which are determined based on the physical properties of the springs. The dominant direction of flow groundwater from the Roko-Roko sub-watershed is to the northeast and southeast, the Nambo Jaya sub-watershed direction is dominant to the southeast and east, while the Masolo sub-watershed is dominant to the northeast and southeast. The results of the groundwater flow direction get results that are in accordance with the interpolation pattern of TDS values. Groundwater potential based on geoelectrical interpretation data in the southernmost part of the Roko-Roko sub-watershed is considered less potential. Meanwhile, the Nambo Jaya sub-watershed and Masolo sub-watershed have high groundwater potential, especially in the southern part to support mining activities. text
