Robusta coffee is a shrub that grows and produces well in the tropical lowlands. The level of production, quality, and taste of robusta coffee can be influenced by environmental conditions, both soil and climate. In the soil there is a decomposition process carried out by soil organisms, one of which is soil arthropods which play an important role in determining the level of soil fertility. The purpose of this study was to examine the community of soil arthropods on Robusta Coffee (Coffea canephora) plantations in three locations with different elevations, namely Tasikmalaya with an altitude of 341-456 mdpl, Ciamis with an altitude of 669- 675 mdpl, and Cianjur with an altitude of 684-713 mdpl , in West Java. Sampling of soil arthropods was carried out using the pitfall trap method. The installation of four sets of pitfall traps was carried out once at each location, where one set of pitfall traps consisted of five traps. The soil fauna encountered was then identified to morphospecies. Rainfall data was obtained from the Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) online database and soil chemical content data were analyzed at the Soil Chemistry Laboratory of the Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran (BALITSA). Based on the correlation test, the diversity index was negatively correlated with rainfall, C-organic content, Ca, and Mg. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the soil arthropod community in Robusta coffee plantations in Tasikmalaya, Ciamis, and Cianjur was built by similar morphospecies. At a robusta coffee plantation in Tasikmalaya found 12 species consisting of 211 individuals with three unique species, namely Cerambycidae, Julidae, Formicidae (6). In Robusta coffee plantations in Ciamis found 13 species consisting of 228 individuals with three unique species, namely Formicidae (4), Araneidae (1), and Araneidae (2). At a robusta coffee plantation in Cianjur found 14 species consisting of 203 individuals with five unique species, namely Formicidae (5), Formicidae (7), Formicidae (9), Tenebrionidae, and Staphylinidae. Similar soil arthropod communities were related to the nutrient content in the soil at the three study sites. text |
