The provision of pedestrian facilities is an important part in realizing the development and
development of transportation with the concept of sustainable transportation (sustainable
development), so that the implementation of pedestrian facilities must accommodate the
community's perspective on pedestrian facilities and existing pedestrian patterns. For this
reason, an assessment is needed that can combine the two perspectives in order to realize
optimal pedestrian facilities. This study discusses the assessment of pedestrian facilities by
combining these two perceptions with the study area located in the Sudirman Station area
because the area has mixed land use equipped with a transportation integration system,
has pedestrian facilities with various levels of performance. and significant pedestrian
potential.
Assessment of pedestrian facilities in this study uses 3 methods, namely Pedestrian Level
of Services (PLOS) to measure the performance of existing pedestrian facilities, Level of
Acceptance (LOA) to measure pedestrian perspectives on pedestrian facilities and Walking
Ability through the Equivalent Walking Distance (Equivalent Walking Distance) equation.
EWD) to measure the effort made by pedestrians in traveling. The indicators and
assessment parameters used in the study refer to the Pedestrian Network Planning
Guidelines (Permen PU 03/PRT/M/2014) which consist of pedestrian speed, aspects of
convenience (completeness of pedestrian facilities and the presence of obstructions),
aspects of comfort (quality of pedestrians) pavement and cleanliness) and safety aspects
(behavior of motorized vehicles towards pedestrians when walking and when crossing the
road).
The results of the analysis on the performance of providing pedestrian facilities (PLOS)
within a radius of 700 meters from the MRT Station are generally in "good enough
condition" (Category B) with an average pedestrian speed of 56,50meters/minutes
(Category D). Furthermore, the results of the analysis of the characteristics of pedestrians
in the Sudirman Station area obtained data that most of the pedestrians belonged to the
Captive group (walking because it was conditional), so the level of acceptance of
respondents to walk to pedestrian facilities was in a "good" condition (Category C). The
average calibrated walking speed by respondents is 62,82 meter/minute (Category E). The
conclusion from the analysis conducted in general is that pedestrian facilities in the
Sudirman area have good performance and can be accepted by the community in
accordance with the community's abilities. to walk. Recommendations in the plan for the
development and improvement of pedestrian facilities in the Sudirman area should focus
on the Convenience Aspect (Improvement of pavement quality) and the Convenience Aspect
(Controlling Road Barriers).
