Summary:Based on the RI-SPAM of the City of Yogyakarta, it is known that the City of Yogyakarta is located in the central region of the Special Region of Yogyakarta which is far from raw water sources that have great potential to be developed. The main purpose for meeting drinking water needs in the region. In this study, a study was conducted to determine the household drinking water needs of Yogyakarta City. The research is quantitative and data is obtained by using a questionnaire as a research instrument. The function of the questionnaire is to collect information related to household water consumption. The distribution of questionnaires is carried out online and offline starting on April 2022 to August 2022 with a minimum sample size of 400 samples using simple random sampling. Based on the results of the research conducted, the average household drinking water usage in Yogyakarta City is 157.80 with a standard deviation of 51.216. From the results of the study, an analysis was carried out regarding the effect of water consumption on raw water sources, economic aspects, social aspects consisting of age, Jenis kelamin and education as the determining factors that affect water consumption and fluctuations in household drinking water use in Yogyakarta City. The selection of Yogyakarta City as the study area is expected to be able to review the planning of drinking water needs in the future to be more effective and efficient and is expected to represent other cities in Indonesia
