Description
Summary:The North Coast of Java has a high level of erosion problems and one of the areas that has erosion problems is Pekalongan. If the handling of this problem is not carried out, it is possible that the area north of Pekalongan which is covered by water will increase in size. Therefore, the research of this final project will be carried out on the design of coastal protection which consists of planning the type of structure, planning the layout, and planning the dimensions of the cross-section of the structure to find out what and how effective coastal protective buildings are used for the North Coast of Pekalongan. The scope of discussion for this final report consists of conducting a literature study, collecting and updating data, determining the type and material of the coastal protection structure, determining the cross-sectional dimensions of the coastal protective structure, determining alternative locations for the coastal protection structure, determining the layout of the coastal protection structure, conducting hydrodynamic modeling. and sediment transport, interpreting the model results. From the results of the analysis of the selection of building types and coastal protection materials, it was found that the selected buildings were groynes with building materials of rubble mound. The modeling carried out is modeling hydrodynamics and sediment transport at the study site. As for the results obtained from this modeling, namely at the study site before the addition of coastal protective buildings, it turned out that more sediment was trapped than after the addition of coastal protective buildings. The more coastal protection structures are used, the less sediment will be trapped around the study site.
