Description
Summary:Bogor City is one of the cities in West Java Province which has an area of 118.5 km2 and a population of 1,052,359 inhabitants. Bogor City is also a satellite city for the Jabodetabek Punjur National Strategic Urban Area whose space utilization is directed towards high and some low-density residential housing. Therefore, the drinking water needs of the people of Bogor City are expected to increase every year. This study examines the drinking water needs of Bogor City and the factors that influence it, including water sources, socio-economic status, and water quality. The methodology used is a survey through questionnaires, interviews, and water sampling. The survey was conducted in March – July 2022 using the stratified random sampling method and the scope of the minimum sample size is based on the proportion of sub-districts. The minimum total number of samples based on the Slovin formula is 400 samples, in this study 466 samples were obtained. Based on the results of the study, the average use of drinking water in the Bogor City is 160.04 ± 51.38 L/Person/Day. Factors that have a relationship with water consumption are water sources, socioeconomic, and water quality physical parameters (odor, taste, and color). The socio-economic aspects studied included economic level, gender, education level, age classification, number of family members, occupation, and ownership of residence. The selection of Bogor City as the study area is expected to be able to review the planning for drinking water and becomes a consideration for regional development plans.
