IN THE YEAR OF 2009, THERE WERE AT LEAST 265 LOCATIONS OF GEOTHERMAL ENERGY SOURCES THROUGHOUT INDONESIA WITH A POTENTIAL OF 28.1 GWE. MOST OF THE POTENTIAL IS ASSOCIATED WITH VOLCANIC PATHWAYS WHICH ARE GENERALLY HAS HIGH ENTHALPY AND CAN BE DEVELOPED COMMERCIALLY FOR ELECTRICITY GENERATION. THE MAPOS GEOTHERMAL AREA, EAST MANGGARAI, EAST NUSA TENGGARA IS ONE AREA THAT HAS GEOTHERMAL POTENTIAL THAT CAN BE PROCESSED AND UTILIZED. THIS STUDY AIMS TO CREATE A CONCEPTUAL MODEL OF THE GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM OF THE MAPOS GEOTHERMAL AREA. THE DATA USED IN THIS STUDY IS FROM THE GRAVITY METHOD SURVEY BY THE SURVEY TEAM OF PSDMBP FOR THE INTEGRATED GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY IN THE MAPOS GEOTHERMAL AREA IN 2014. GRAVITY DATA PROCESSING PRODUCES A COMPLETE BOUGER ANOMALY MAP WITH AN AVERAGE DENSITY VALUE. AN AVERAGE OF 2.45 GRAMS/CM3 OBTAINED BASED ON CALCULATIONS USING THE PARASNIS METHOD. FURTHERMORE, THE FILTERING PROCESS IS CARRIED OUT ON THE COMPLETE BOUGER ANOMALY MAP FOR THE SEPARATION OF REGIONAL AND RESIDUAL ANOMALIES USING THE MOVING AVERAGE AND TREND SURFACE ANALYSIS METHODS. THE MOVING AVERAGE METHOD IS CARRIED OUT WITH A WINDOW WIDTH OF 15 WHICH IS OBTAINED FROM THE CALCULATION OF SPECTRAL ANALYSIS. THE RESIDUAL ANOMALY MAP OF THE MOVING AVERAGE METHOD SHOWS THE DISTRIBUTION OF HIGH DENSITY VALUES IN THE EASTERN PART OF THE STUDY AREA AND LOW VALUES IN THE NORTHWEST PART OF THE STUDY AREA, WHICH IS THOUGHT TO BE DUE TO MAGMA INTRUSION. THE RESIDUAL MAP USING THE MOVING AVERAGE METHOD WAS CHOSEN FOR 2.5 DIMENSIONAL FORWARD MODELING BECAUSE IT BETTER DESCRIBES THE GEOLOGICAL CONDITIONS OF THE RESEARCH AREA. 2.5-DIMENSIONAL MODELING IS CARRIED OUT WITH A TRAJECTORY THROUGH THE MANIFESTATION OF MAPOS HOT SPRINGS. THE MODELING RESULTS SHOW A HIGH ANOMALY VALUE IN THE CENTER OF THE STUDY AREA WHICH IS THOUGHT TO BE AN INTRUSION AID WITH A DENSITY CONTRAST OF +0.25 GRAM/CM3 AND IS ESTIMATED TO BE A HEAT SOURCE FOR THE MAPOS GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM. CONGLOMERATE ROCK AS RESERVOIR AND ALTERED ROCK AS CAPROCK.
In the year of 2009, there were at least 265 locations of geothermal energy sources throughout Indonesia with a potential of 28.1 GWe. Most of the potential is associated with volcanic pathways which are generally has high enthalpy and can be developed commercially for electricity generation. The...
