Description
Summary:An increase in activity that is not matched by the provision of adequate facilities causes a decline in the function of Pasar Kadipaten. The condition of the infrastructure is not well maintained, there is damage in several corners of the market, unorganized street vendors and irregular parking conditions add to the chaotic impression of Pasar Kadipaten. There are often traffic jams around the market due to the overflow of merchant activities. In addition, the provision of adequate facilities is needed to support the development plan of Majalengka Regency to follow provincial and national development plans. Facing this phenomenon, the district government makes market relocation plans in two locations, namely Pagandon Village and Bojong Cideres Village. However, market relocation plans are often carried out in one direction (top-down) which triggers pros and cons from the community so that there is a discrepancy in the expected plan results. The strategic location is also one of the main reasons and important factors in the sustainability of the market. So that to minimize the failure of market development, research was made to assess the opportunities for new market locations in Pagandon and Bojong Cideres villages based on the perceptions of market participants and spatial factors using comparative analysis, qualitative analysis, and quantitative analysis. After the analysis, Bojong Cideres Village has a higher chance of being used as a market location compared to Pagandon Village with a 70% percentage (? 50%).
