This study aims to identify land use changes in Cikapundung watershed, identify the trends of discharge extremity in Cikapundung watershed, and analyze the effect of land use changes on discharge extremity in Cikapundung watershed. The data used in this study are secondary data, such as rainfall data from Cibiru, Cipeusing, Dago Pakar-Bengkok, Kayu Ambon, Lembang, and Margahayu rain stations; river discharge data from Cikapundung-Maribaya and CitarumDayeuhkolot discharge stations; land cover maps in 2014 and 2018; soil type map; and slope map. Land conversion occurred in the period of 2014 to 2018 in Cikapundung watershed was an increase in forest land by 0.38%/year out of the watershed area, a decrease in agricultural land by -1.11%/year out of the watershed area, and an increase in built-up land by 0.73%/year out of the watershed area. Meanwhile, land conversion occurred in the upstream of Cikapundung watershed was an increase in forest land by 0.98%/year out of the upstream watershed area, a decrease in agricultural land by -1%/year out of the upstream watershed area, and an increase in built-up land by 0.021%/year out of the upstream watershed area. The maximum discharge at Cikapundung-Maribaya and Citarum-Dayeuhkolot discharge stations tended to increase. Meanwhile, the minimum discharge at Cikapundung-Maribaya discharge station tended to decrease and the minimum discharge at Citarum-Dayeuhkolot discharge station tended to increase. This research shows that land use changes affected the discharge extremity indicated by changes in the runoff coefficient and the flow regime coefficient which are directly proportional. text |
