Description
Summary:The most influential sector on a country's economy is the tourism sector. The influence exerted is so great that it has been considered as the most effective sector to increase the country's devisa by Bank Indonesia. Steps that can be taken are to encourage or increase development in areas that have great potential to attract tourists in the tourism sector. West Bandung Regency is one district that has a lot of potential to be a tourist attraction because it has abundant natural and cultural resources. One of the villages that is planned to be developed in West Bandung Regency is Mekarwangi, a village which is located in Sindangkerta District. Mekarwangi is planned to be developed as a thematic tourism village by Bappelitbang and West Bandung Regency in 2019. In order for the development of a tourism village to be successful, the village must have attractiveness and be able to meet the needs and services to tourists. For this reason, the village must be supported by 4 (four) main components in tourism which are also commonly referred to as 4A, namely attraction (attraction), accessibility (accessibility), amenities (facilities), and ancilliary (additional services). This study seeks to identify the condition of Mekarwangi village as a tourist village based on these 4 components. This study collects two types of data, namely primary and secondary. Primary data is original data obtained from direct sources during field observations. The secondary data obtained from the results of documentation and literature study through literature review activities The analytical method used is descriptive qualitative method and SWOT analysis method. Mekarwangi village has so many attractions. From 40 tourist attractions owned by Mekarwangi village, 26 of them are based on cultural resources and 14 others are based on natural resources. However, Mekarwangi village also has many obstacles, including facility constraints, accessibility constraints, human resource constraints, funding constraints and the lack of coordination between residents, Pokdarwis, village governments and also the central government. The conclusion of this study is that Mekarwangi village needs to improve itself in preparing its village to become a tourist village. In addition to the lack of facilities and infrastructure, the active role and support of the government are also obstacles in the development of Mekarwangi village.
