Description
Summary:Bandung Basin Tourism has various types of tourism, one of that is a geotourism object. The geotourism object of Gunung Bohong Intrusion Hillranges and its surroundings, West Java has very good tourism potential (geotourism). These intrusion hillrange are located on the border of Cimahi City and West Bandung Regency, administratively. Geotourism aspects of the research area are unique, ranging from geology, geomorphology, stratigraphy, to culture. The research focuses on geology and geotourism analysis on the Gunung Bohong Intrusion Hillrange its surroundings, West Java. The geotourism potential in the Cimahi- Batujajar area is very good, supported by a strategic geographical location. Unfortunately, this area is not very popular among Bandung residents or nationally. This area is known only as the Indonesia-China High Speed Rail (KCIC) line in general. The research methodology was carried out by means of geological mapping in the field. Field mapping determined the geology, stratigraphy, geomorphology, structure, and geological history of research area. Geotourism analysis uses a method based on Newsome (2005) and Kubalikova (2012). The geomorphological condition of the research area is in the form of prominent landform features in the form of intrusion hillrange. Other morphology also adorns this area such as isolated intrusion hills, pyroclastic flow valleys, lake sediment plains, epiclastic plains, epiclastic valleys, and lava flow ridges. Lithological and stratigraphic units found in this area are andesite (lava and intrusion), pyroclastic deposits (coarse ash), epiclastic breccia, and sandstone. The structure in the study area has four segment typically normal and oblique faults based on field observations. The results of the structural analysis are divided into three types, namely normal, normal left, and normal right. Geotourism potential in this area is very good based on the results of the analysis. The development of this area as a geotourism area is possible to implemented so, peoples are aware of the geology and tourism in this area.
