Bacterias K. pneumoniae, and A. brasilense strain SP7 and strain SP27 were used, while fertilizer used were 0, 25, 50 and 75 kg N/Ha. The result revealed that inoculation of nitrogen fixing bacteria to upland rice did not stimulate tillering and plant height, but increased shoot and root dry weight, plant N total production and acetylene reduction activities. Effect of A. brasilense on acetylene reduction abilities was the same as K. pneumoniae, however the effect of A. brasilense on increasing biomass dry weight (shoot and root) and plant N total production revealed tendency to increase compare to K. pneumoniae. Differences in nitrogen fertilizer did not cause significant effect on all parametric measured, except plant N content. Bacteria and nitrogen fertilizer interaction did not cause significant effect on all parametric measured. From regression analysis there were correlation between root dry weight with shoot dry weight, and correlation between root dry weight with plant N total production.
text
