Summary:One of the data which can be used for reservoir characterization is geoelectrical data. Basically the data is showing a value of reservoir resistivity. This research held on Werner-Schlumberger method with consideration that this research is preliminary, so we could have deeper investigation even the result is general. For validation, the resistivity data projected to the parallel seismic section near by and the result of sequence stratigraphic analysis from BNG-1 well, close to the resistivity section. According to the result of acquisition held on Banyubang Field, we got 3 resistivity section which is : East Banyubang Section, Middle Banyubang Section and West Banyubang Section. After processed, only on East Banyubang Section, the acquisition achieved the Nggrayong Sand. Result of the interpretation show, vertically the litology in the East Banyubang section could be separate into 5 groups. The first hydrocarbon prospect zone located in the lowest group (part of Nggrayong sand) which is on 360 m – 315 m depth. According to the value of resistivity, the type of hydrocarbon probably is gas. The second interesting hydrocarbon prospect zone is located in 260 m – 140 m depth which is part of the third groups. According to the value of resistivity, the type of hydrocarbon probably is oil. On the Middle and West Banyubang section, the resistivity section showing the sub surface condition especially the zone of fluid which could be acknowledge as a aquifer zone. Beside of the function, this resistivity method also sensitive and could be used for acknowledge the geotechnical activity as well construction and others. The existing of well casing also could be recognaise by this resistivity section profile.
