Description
Summary:Malabar Block is located at Pasir Putih Sub-basin which is part of North West Java Basin. This research is focused on Talang Akar Formation interval which is one of reservoir target in North West Java Basin. The research aims are to understand stratigraphic succession and petroleum system in research area, to analyze the potential stratigraphic traps, estimates hydrocarbon resources, and determine prospect rankings of hydrocarbon traps which have been identified. The data which have been used consist of three-dimensional seismic data, side wall cores and cuttings descriptions, and wireline log data. The methods that have been used in this research are stratigraphic sequence succession analysis, reservoir distribution model using seismic attribute, and risk analysis based on petroleum system. Based on depositional environment analysis with electrofacies approach and rock description, Talang Akar Formation is deposited on estuary environment. This formation is acting as source rock, reservoir rock, and seal as well in research area. RMS amplitude seismic attribute is used to indicate the sandstone distribution and also the presence of sandstone to shale facies changes, so that the integration of distribution reservoir rock map and depth structure map generates 13 prospect areas consist of 29 potential stratigraphic traps. Based on the volumetric calculations of A, B, and C Reservoir assuming all traps are filled by oil, obtained that unrisk resources is estimated at 384.11 MMSTB and risk resources is estimated at 55.03 MMSTB. The result of risk analysis based on petroleum system gained three prospect area rankings, area F, area L, and area A.
