FORWARD MODELING OF SEICMIC REFRACTION FOR THE CIBEBER REGION WITH TIME DOMAIN FINITE DIFFERENCE METHOD
The seismic method is an active geophysical method that utilizes a source of seismic wave propagation (such as a hammer or explosion) into the earth's surface which is used to determine conditions below the earth's surface. This research was conducted using a numerical method, namely the f...

This research was conducted using a numerical method, namely the finite difference method to obtain an interpretation of the model according to the seismic data in the field. Based on these conditions, forward modeling was carried out to obtain seismic velocity and depth of the Cibeber subsurface layer. Discretization of this domain modeling uses a grid size of 160×160. Afterwards, the required model parameters are put into MATLAB. Then a trial and error process was carried out on these parameters to get a model that matched the Cibeber Area field data. After changing the model parameters and finding a suitable model, the depth of each layer and seismic velocity of Region X, Cibeber are obtained. The results of the subsurface interpretation layer for Region X, Cibeber are divided into two layers, namely 3 layers and 4 layers. Speeds in three layers are 250 m/s, 535 m/s, 1000 m/s with layer thicknesses up to 3 m and below. Meanwhile, the four layers are 250 m/s, 435 m/s, 710 m/s, 1000 m/s with layers up to 13 m and below. Based on the results, it could be concluded that the modified MATLAB program with finite difference method was successful for subsurface interpretation of Region X, Cibeber. text |
