Further development shows that the Talang Akar Formation has good reservoir potential, so further research is needed. The research was conducted at FS-5.6 - SB-8 interval of the Talang Akar Formation which aims to determine the geological setting, facies association, depositional environment, distribution of petrophysical properties, and estimate the amount of hydrocarbon reserves (OOIP). The data used in this study are rock core data, wireline logs from 3 wells, and 3D seismic surface data. The analysis obtained from the rock core report and wireline logs shows that there are 4 facies associations in the form of Fluvial Channel, Floodplain, Shoreface, and Offshore at the research interval. The four facies associations make up the depositional environment in the form of Fluvial-Deltaic with the depositional direction of Southwest – Northeast. Sequence stratigraphic analysis divided 4 sequence boundaries and 2 maximum flooding surfaces. Based on the petrophysical analysis, the average property values of volume of clay, effective porosity, and water saturation in reservoir-1 (FS- 7.4 - SB-8) are 0.51, 0.16, and 0.56, then in reservoir-2 (SB-7 - FS7.1) are 0.24, 0.16, and 0.27. The cutoff limit at the study interval for volume of clay is 0.73, effective porosity is 0.052, and the water saturation is 0.67. Seismic analysis resulted in a trap structure identified as an fault drag anticline. Subsurface mapping and determination of fluid contact resulted in volumetric estimation of reserves are 2.50 MMSTB (left reservoir-1), 1.15 MMSTB (right reservoir-1), 13.50 MMSTB (left reservoir-2), and 3.36 MMSTB (right reservoir-2). text |

Hazel field is located in the Jambi Sub-Basin, Jambi Province, is an oil and gas field
targeting the Talang Akar Formation. Further development shows that the Talang Akar
Formation has good reservoir potential, so further research is needed. The research
was conducted at FS-5.6 - SB-8 interval of the Talang Akar Formation which aims to
determine the geological setting, facies association, depositional environment,
distribution of petrophysical properties, and estimate the amount of hydrocarbon
reserves (OOIP). The data used in this study are rock core data, wireline logs from 3
wells, and 3D seismic surface data.
The analysis obtained from the rock core report and wireline logs shows that there are
4 facies associations in the form of Fluvial Channel, Floodplain, Shoreface, and
Offshore at the research interval. The four facies associations make up the depositional
environment in the form of Fluvial-Deltaic with the depositional direction of Southwest
– Northeast. Sequence stratigraphic analysis divided 4 sequence boundaries and 2
maximum flooding surfaces. Based on the petrophysical analysis, the average property
values of volume of clay, effective porosity, and water saturation in reservoir-1 (FS-
7.4 - SB-8) are 0.51, 0.16, and 0.56, then in reservoir-2 (SB-7 - FS7.1) are 0.24, 0.16,
and 0.27. The cutoff limit at the study interval for volume of clay is 0.73, effective
porosity is 0.052, and the water saturation is 0.67. Seismic analysis resulted in a trap
structure identified as an fault drag anticline.
Subsurface mapping and determination of fluid contact resulted in volumetric
estimation of reserves are 2.50 MMSTB (left reservoir-1), 1.15 MMSTB (right
reservoir-1), 13.50 MMSTB (left reservoir-2), and 3.36 MMSTB (right reservoir-2). |
