Therefore, many studies are being done to find technology that can carry out research-level analysis in a non-invasive and fast way to detect glucose. Making a portable sensor that can properly support the results of sample testing is a solution to this problem. Screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) is one of the electrodes that can be used as a portable sensor because of its small size. However, the working electrodes from SPCE must be modified with additional material to improve the performance. Many factors determine the modification such as the deposition method and the material itself. In this study, the SPCE modification was carried out by drop-casting method and using enzymatic and non-enzymatic materials. The enzymatic material consists of glucose oxidase (GOx) while the non-enzymatic material is Graphene-Fe3O4, CNT-Fe3O4 and Co-MOF. From these materials, SPCE only can detect glucose when modified by Co-MOF. SPCE performance as a detection sensor has a characteristic measurement error of 1.7% and selective to glucose when compared with urea and NaCl, but doesn’t have good sensitivity and stability for variations in glucose concentration. text |

Glucose is one of the most important substances for medical check-up. Therefore,
many studies are being done to find technology that can carry out research-level
analysis in a non-invasive and fast way to detect glucose. Making a portable sensor
that can properly support the results of sample testing is a solution to this problem.
Screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) is one of the electrodes that can be used as a
portable sensor because of its small size. However, the working electrodes from
SPCE must be modified with additional material to improve the performance. Many
factors determine the modification such as the deposition method and the material
itself. In this study, the SPCE modification was carried out by drop-casting method
and using enzymatic and non-enzymatic materials. The enzymatic material consists
of glucose oxidase (GOx) while the non-enzymatic material is Graphene-Fe3O4,
CNT-Fe3O4 and Co-MOF. From these materials, SPCE only can detect glucose when
modified by Co-MOF. SPCE performance as a detection sensor has a characteristic
measurement error of 1.7% and selective to glucose when compared with urea and
NaCl, but doesn’t have good sensitivity and stability for variations in glucose
concentration. |
