This process needs support from all sectors, especially the community in society. Therefore, community empowerment is essential. Posyandu is an implementation of community empowerment for maternal and child health services, which is carried out from, by, for the community and is guided by related officers. Community representatives in implementing this activity can be called cadre or community health workers (CHW). iPosyandu as a mobile Health application (mHealth app), was introduced to assist community health workers in reporting and monitoring Posyandu data online. Unfortunately, they still provide data on paper, which takes a long time to store. As a result, policymaking and implementation are delayed, especially in maternal and childcare, particularly in reducing maternal mortality and stunting, which have not reached the target of the World Health Organization (WHO). This study aims aim to identify and explore the reason of the factor that influences Posyandu application intention behaviour usage by expanding the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and intention to participate in value co-creation among community health workers. This study used a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design consisting of: (1) a cross-sectional survey of 230 CHW to conduct a partial least squares (PLS)-Structural Equation Modelling for data analysis. (2) Focus group discussion with CHW from 12 villages, coordinating midwives, village midwives, and nutritionists to validate behavior intention to use the Posyandu application with thematic analysis. This research was conducted in Purwakarta Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia, collected from 7 until 28 April 2022. This area was chosen because it is a pilot study area of the Posyandu application. The findings show that Effort Expectancy and perceived policy support significantly affect the intention to participate in value co-creation and use the Posyandu application. The findings show the important correlation between the intention to participate in value co-creation and the intention to use the Posyandu application. It is also found that Intention to participate in value co-creation can significantly be a moderator variable between Effort Expectancy, Perceived Policy Support to Intention to use the Posyandu application. By participating in value co-creation, CHW can foster a sense of belonging that encourages them to use the Posyandu application. This study's finding is useful for developing theoretical knowledge about mobile health technology development among community health workers, which considers strategy variables to increase acceptance. Empirically this research can be used as a consideration for technology utilization and sustainably in the community. This study has limitations where the selected sample is a pilot study in which community health workers have received socialization and advice on using the Posyandu application. It would be better if further research chooses other areas where community health workers voluntarily use the Posyandu application. In addition, there are Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Conditions, which are not significant with the Intention to use the Posyandu application; it would be better if another approach is used to get a deeper understanding of why there is no relationship between these variables. This study suggests that policymakers and application developers could encourage community health workers to utilize iPosyandu by strengthening effort mechanisms, giving policy support, and permitting community health workers to co-create the value of the application. text |
