Summary: | Green open space is a must-have component in an urban area, the extent of which
has been regulated by law. Along with the development of the city and population
dynamics, the availability of green open space in the City of Tasikmalaya has not
yet been fulfilled and a strategy is needed in its development. Green open space is
a space that provides many benefits in a city, especially when the Covid-19
pandemic. Restrictions imposed due to the pandemic force people to keep their
distance and limit mobility. The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis that
allows it to fundamentally change people's perceptions and preferences towards
green open spaces. This study aims to identify the problems that occur in the
provision of green open space and the extent of the function of green open space
before and during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as to formulate the potential for
developing green infrastructure to fulfil the needs of green open spaces post
pandemi covid-19 in the city of Tasikmalaya based on the results of public
perceptions and preferences. This study uses a comparative descriptive research
method with a quantitative approach. Data collection was carried out using a
questionnaire to 100 respondents. Identification of problems in the provision of
green open space which is used for the DPSIR (Driver, Pressure, State, Impact, and
Respone) approach. The findings of the study on problems in providing green open
space were triggered by several driving factors, including increasing population
and uncrease in built area. Data collection for public perceptions and preferences
was carried out by online questionnaires and direct surveys to Dadaha Park. The
results show that the number of green open space visitors before the pandemic was
91% and during the pandemic it decreased to 60% of the population. Based on
research, residents believed green spaces to be important for their mental and
physical health. As many as 86% of respondents considered visits to green open
spaces as having a great impact on stress levels reduction. This provides empirical
evidence of the importance of green open spaces for residents, especially during a
pandemic. Recommendations on the development of effective green infrastructure
based on public preferences will be done by developing urban parks, while at a
micro scale priority will be done by developing neighborhood parks with vegetation
in the form of trees. The results of data processing show that the potential for green
infrastructure an area is 9424.31 ha, and the link of green infrastructure is
increased to 471,05 ha. |
