Description
Summary:Geological and hydrogeological research located in Kertamukti and surrounding, West Bandung Regency, West Java Province. This research was conducted using geological and hydrogeological mapping methods, analysis of the physical and chemical content of groundwater. This research aims to know geological conditions, groundwater characteristics, groundwater quality, the processes that affect groundwater chemistry, and groundwater infiltration rates. Geomorphology of the research area consists of seven units, they are Sirnaraja Pyroclastic Hills, Pasir Reubun Pyroclastic Hills, Cipanengah Anticline Valley, Pasir Dogdog Homocline Ridge, Sumurbandung Homocline Ridge, Sumurbandung Sincline Valley and Cimangsud Lava Dome. The stratigraphy of the research area consists of seven unofficial rock units, they are Claystone Unit 1, Sandstone Unit, Claystone Unit 2, Pyroclastic Breccia Unit, Andesite Lava Unit, Tuff Unit and Laharic Breccia Unit. Geologycal structures of the study area consists of four structures, they are Cicendo Anticline, Sumurbandung Syncline, Cicendo Sinistral Strike-Slip Fault, and Sinistral Pasir Dogdog Strike-Slip Fault. The research area is divided into seven hydrogeological units, they are Claystone Aquifer, Sandstone Aquifer, Pyroclastic Breccia Aquifer, Tuff Aquifer, Laharic Breccia Aquifer, and Aquiclude Unit. Infiltration rate on tuff weathered soil is 25,3 cm/hour. Infiltration rate on laharic breccia weathered soil is 16,5 cm/hour. Infiltration rate on pyroclastic breccia weathered soil is 15 cm/hour. Infiltration rate on sandstone weathered soil is 12,9 cm/hour. Infiltration rate on claystone weathered soil is 4,38 cm/hour. Infiltration rate on andesite weathered soil is 4,29 cm/hour. There are many groundwater samples that did not meet drinking water quality standards based on pH parameters, while for TDS parameters all groundwater sample are suitable for drinking. Almost all groundwater samples are suitable for irrigation purposes based on the parameters NA%, SAR, RSC, and Total Hardness.
