To run the business process, X Ltd. has two Main Fullfillment Centers (MFC) as warehouses located in Sentul and Klapanunggal. There are several problems that arise in the process of X Ltd.’s warehousing operations, some of which are (1) bottlenecks in the picking process in the warehouse, (2) human error, and (3) non-optimal warehouse utilization. Therefore, further analysis of the warehousing operations business process and the design of alternative business processes that can improve the performance of warehousing operations are needed. The first stage of this research is to analyze the business process of warehousing operations by designing a business process map using CFD or Cross Functional Diagram and Block Diagram. The analysis results in a proposed business process in the form of Alternative 1, which is the transition of the packing process in both warehouses to the supplier. Next, an evaluation of the existing system and Alternative 1 was conducted using the Discrete-event Simulation or DES approach. Evaluation using DES approach in Arena Simulation resulted in the conclusion that the best performing system is Alternative 1 (Moving the packing process to the supplier). Alternative System 1 can improve the performance of the average value-added time of each entity by 77.72% (Sentul) and 77.27% (Klapanunggal), as well as the average total time of each entity by 3.39% (Sentul) and 0.04% (Klapanunggal). For processing time, there is a significant improvement measured up to 79.3% (Sentul) and 58.4% (Klapanunggal) especially in the Inbound process. The observed performance improvement is a decrease in processing time and entities in the simulation. The implementation of Alternative System 1 requires PT X to consider the reduction (or transfer) of PHL in the packing process as well as the use of additional space previously used in the packing process that meets SNI and ISO standards. text
