This research aims to know the groundwater infiltration rate, the processes that affect groundwater chemistry, and the suitability of groundwater use. The methodology used in this research is mapping, field data analysis, secondary data analysis, and laboratory test results analysis. The research area is stratigraphically divided into five unofficial rock units, which are Limestone Unit, Sandstone Unit, Tuff Unit, Volcanic Breccia Unit, and Alluvial Deposit Unit. Geological Structure developed in the research area is anticline and syncline. The research area consists of the Folded Sandstone- Limestone Aquifer-Aquiclude Unit, Tuff Aquifer-Aquiclude Unit, and Volcanic Breccia Aquifer-Aquiclude Unit which all three aquifers are types of unconfined aquifer. The average infiltration rate in Sandstone-Limestone Aquifer Unit is 8.72 cm/hour, in Tuff Aquifer Unit is 25.22 cm/hour, and in Volcanic Breccia Aquifer Unit is 18.89 cm/hour. Groundwater sample from Sandstone-Limestone Aquifers Unit is dominated by calcium (Ca2+) and bicarbonate (HCO3-) ions which are included in the facies of calcium bicarbonate (Ca(HCO3)2). While groundwater sample from Tuff Aquifer and Volcanic Breccia Aquifer Unit is dominated by magnesium (Mg2+) and bicarbonate (HCO3-) ions which are included in the facies of magnesium bicarbonate (Mg(HCO3)2). Processes those affect groundwater chemistry in this research area are carbonate dissolution, weathering of carbonate/silicate minerals, reverse ion exchange, influence of rain/surface water, and anthropogenic. Based on physical parameter, groundwater in the research area meets the requirements to be consumed as drinking water. However, the pH value in some dug wells did not meet the drinking water quality requirements. Groundwater in the research area is suitable for irrigation purposes. text |
