Summary: | Mathematics learning activities in class often only focus on memorizing facts and formulas, counting, and solving routine problems without understanding. As a result, mathematics becomes a subject that seems difficult, abstract, and tedious. The visual representation and students' involvement in activities that use visual representations are proven to make abstract concepts easy to learn. Research also shows that visual math can help improve student understanding. Trigonometry is one of the essential subjects but also quite challenging to learn because the concepts are abstract with too many formulas and are often presented without meaning. This study will show the effect of visual mathematics in improving students' understanding of the sine and cosine values. The learning design is presented in the form of activities utilizing dynamic visual representations using GeoGebra software. This research is qualitative in nature and has seven high school students in class XI as respondents. The results of this study indicate that the learning design used improves students' understanding. |
