The passive radar data security feature will be added by implementing AES-128 encryption considering that the ASTERIX protocol does not have any data security features. Finally, simulations of the implementation of passive radar data integration with the ASTERIX Cat 015 encoder/decoder and the AES–128 encryption/decryption module will be performed on the passive radar data exchange system. Simulated integration of radar data using ASTERIX Cat 015 has been successfully performed using the encoder and decoder that have been created. Data flow from remote stations – master stations – command centers and national air defense operations can run well. The results of delay processing measurements are not more than 100 ms for radar data below 100 bytes. With the successful simulation of radar data integration and the results of delay processing measurements that have been carried out, the integration of passive radar data on the national defense network can be carried out using ASTERIX Cat 015 and additional AES- 128 encryption for security. text |

Passive Radar has been researched and developed over the past few decades by
academia and industry. In fact, some companies have started offering their
passive radar products as commercial products. Indonesia is one of the buyers of
VERA-NG commercial passive radar products from ERA. On the other hand,
Indonesia has also succeeded in developing its own passive radar through the
cooperation of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense and the Bandung Institute of
Technology. In other words, two passive radar units are ready to be used as part
of the national surveillance system in Indonesia. In order for passive radar data
to be integrated with national surveillance systems, passive radar data needs to
be converted into ASTERIX standard radar data. The new format ASTERIX Cat
015 issued by Eurocontrol in early 2021 is suspected to be a radar data format
suitable for passive radar.
In this study, an encoder and decoder ASTERIX Cat 015 will be created in order
for integrating passive radar data on the national defense radar network. The
passive radar data security feature will be added by implementing AES-128
encryption considering that the ASTERIX protocol does not have any data
security features. In addition, processing delays were also measured to calculate
the delay time due to the addition of the ASTERIX Cat 015 encoder-decoder and
the AES-128 encryption-decryption module. Finally, simulations of the
implementation of passive radar data integration with the ASTERIX Cat 015
encoder/decoder and the AES–128 encryption/decryption module will be
performed on the passive radar data exchange system.
Simulated integration of radar data using ASTERIX Cat 015 has been successfully
performed using the encoder and decoder that have been created. Data flow from
remote stations – master stations – command centers and national air defense
operations can run well. The results of delay processing measurements are not
more than 100 ms for radar data below 100 bytes. With the successful simulation
of radar data integration and the results of delay processing measurements that
have been carried out, the integration of passive radar data on the national
defense network can be carried out using ASTERIX Cat 015 and additional AES-
128 encryption for security. |
