Description
Summary:Tembilahan Hulu District is an area with many ditches located in Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. In this area flows a river which is the lower part of the Indragiri River which is one of the leading causes of flood disasters that occur due to the influence of tides. This disaster caused losses both in terms of social and economic. This study is intended to plan the most suitable flood control system to be implemented in the Indragiri River from river and ditch management, to prevent tidal water from entering the ditch so as not to cause flooding. The planned structures are embankments or sheet piles on the left side of the Indragiri River and a sluice gate at the mouth of the trench. Hydraulic modeling was carried out using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS software. The features used in the modeling using HEC-RAS are 1D (one dimension) and 2D (two dimensions which examine the comparison between flood water level and river bank elevation. Based on the modeling results, the location of the overflowing river section and the appropriate plan of the embankment/sheet pile is obtained based on the boundary conditions in the field.
