Several factors that can influence the dynamics of the waters south of Java are Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD), El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO), South Equatorial Current (SEC), South Java Current (SJC), monsoon winds, and the Indonesian Throughflow (ITF). The purpose of this study is to identify the dominant current pattern in the southern waters of Java for 25 years (16 January 1995 – 16 December 2019) with data obtained from Marine Copernicus. For analysis purposes, the data will be processed and displayed in the form of surface currents spatially according to the seasons December-January-February (DJF), March-April-May (MAM), June-July-August (JJA) and September-October- November (SON), temporally over 25 years and 25 years spatially with Empirical Orthogonal Functions (EOF) analysis. A temporal-analysis is carried out at 5 points representing several characteristics of waters such as straits, nearshore waters, and offshore waters. Temporarily for 25 years, it is known that a very large range of current velocity magnitudes occurs in the Lombok Strait, which is between 0.001-2.29 m/s. The temporal current pattern at these 5 points is dominated by westward currents. The spatial flow pattern shows that in the North Java waters and South Java waters, the influence of monsoon winds per 6 months is dominated. Then, ARLINDO has an influence on the movement of currents in the Lombok Strait and North Java. SJC dominates the influence of ocean current movement in the South Coast of Java, while for currents in the Indian Ocean is majorly dominated by SEC and minorly influences by ENSO and IOD EOF mode 1 shows the dominant influence of current-forming from SEC and ARLINDO by 53.9%. EOF mode 2 produces the dominant influence of the current-forming monsoon and SJC by 13.0%. EOF mode 3 shows the dominant influence of interannual phenomena such as cyclones, IOD, and ENSO by 7.0%.
