Effective and efficient procurement of government goods/services is a basic component of good governance. The goods/services procurement system implemented in Indonesia is currently still vulnerable to fraud, waste, and abuse which can result in leakage of funds and a decrease in the quality of goods/services. This is shown by data from the 2019 Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) report which places corruption cases in the procurement of goods/services in 2nd place. As a result, the reputation of government projects is generally predictably poor, and they will often be delayed or will not deliver benefits. According to Deloitte, no organization is immune to fraud and corruption, especially in its procurement cycle. However, this can be controlled to reduce the possibility of fraud and corruption. Procurement of government goods/services is a series of processes that start from the identification of needs until the goods/services are well received. But in practice, there are still findings of recurring problems. This research will focus on the process of selecting providers both by tender/selection in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology as one of the ministries with the largest budget and has work units spread across each province, using a know your supplier (KYS) approach. KYS is a background check and due diligence to ensure that the provider has a good reputation and as a form of control to minimize the emergence of fraud. With this research, it is hoped that it can become material for consideration for improving the procurement system and adding to the body of literature in government procurement of goods/services. text
