Description
Summary:Tool machines are widely used by various industries and are the main equipment in the manufacturing industry. Until now, the development of the machine tool manufacturing industry in Indonesia has not yet existed, so to fulfil the domestic needs, needs, the tool machines must be imported from other countries. Due to the limited competency, the utilization of machine tools in Indonesia are attached with the contribution of export activities from other countries, one of which is South Korea. In 2021, under the purpose of research needs, ITB received 50 lathes with the type of NARA 4308 from South Korea . One of the research needs that will be carried out is in the form of reverse engineering the lathes through collaboration with various local industries. This final project discusses the manufacturing process of spindle shaft components. The analysis is carried out based on technical drawings which then pin down the order of the manufacturing process along with the tools and machines that are needed. The analysis part carried out on the machining process, including the finishing process in the form of the grinding process and the heat treatment process. The machining and finishing processes are described further with the visualization of the manufacturing process to provide a clear picture of a series of processes. The final output is in the form of comprehensive information regarding the steps, methods, processes, and quantitative parameters needed to produce spindle shafts. This research is ultimately expected to be a reference for the local manufacturing industry to produce domestic lathes, especially the NARA 4308 lathe.
