The purpose of this study was to conduct detailed geological mapping and to study deepwater sediment with gravity mass-flow mechanisms, related to magmatic activity. Geomorphological unit in the study was divided into four geomorphological units, Homocline Ridge Unit, Folded Hills Unit, Volcanic Hills Unit, and Volcanic Valley Unit. Geological data in the study area spanned from Upper Eocene until Recent. Lithological unit in study area was divided into nine unofficial units, namely Sandstone Unit, Claystone Unit, Limestone Unit, Sandstone-Claystone I Unit, Sandstone-Breccia Unit, Sandstone- Claystone II Unit, Breccia I Unit, Tuff Unit, and Breccia II Unit. Geological structures in the study area were the products of compressional deformation regime, formed in Upper Miocene-Pleistocene epoch. Those structures were thrust faults, anticlines, synclines, and strike-slip faults. Based on measuring sections on Sandstone-Claystone I Unit, there were consisted by four lithofacies unit, namely Structureless Sandstone, Classical Turbidites, Slump with Stratified Blocks, dan Conglomerate. There were two facies associastions, namely Channeled Suprafan Lobes dan Smooth-Channeled Suprafan Lobes. Model of vertical succession showed that during deposition of sediments, it was influenced by relatively fast subsidence and the rising sea level in Early Miocene, which causing the smooth fan to moved proximally. text |

Geological mapping was conducted in the central part of Bogor Through, which is
Cibadak District and surrounding areas, Sukabumi Regency, West Java. The purpose of this
study was to conduct detailed geological mapping and to study deepwater sediment with
gravity mass-flow mechanisms, related to magmatic activity.
Geomorphological unit in the study was divided into four geomorphological units,
Homocline Ridge Unit, Folded Hills Unit, Volcanic Hills Unit, and Volcanic Valley Unit.
Geological data in the study area spanned from Upper Eocene until Recent. Lithological
unit in study area was divided into nine unofficial units, namely Sandstone Unit, Claystone
Unit, Limestone Unit, Sandstone-Claystone I Unit, Sandstone-Breccia Unit, Sandstone-
Claystone II Unit, Breccia I Unit, Tuff Unit, and Breccia II Unit. Geological structures in the
study area were the products of compressional deformation regime, formed in Upper
Miocene-Pleistocene epoch. Those structures were thrust faults, anticlines, synclines, and
strike-slip faults.
Based on measuring sections on Sandstone-Claystone I Unit, there were consisted by
four lithofacies unit, namely Structureless Sandstone, Classical Turbidites, Slump with
Stratified Blocks, dan Conglomerate. There were two facies associastions, namely Channeled
Suprafan Lobes dan Smooth-Channeled Suprafan Lobes. Model of vertical succession showed
that during deposition of sediments, it was influenced by relatively fast subsidence and the
rising sea level in Early Miocene, which causing the smooth fan to moved proximally. |
