Description
Summary:South Tangerang is a city where most of the area is focused on being a residential area. Population density and industrial activity are the most significant factors in increasing PM2.5 concentrations in South Tangerang, which, if left unchecked, will have an adverse effect on the health of the local community. The influence of meteorological parameters makes the concentration of PM2.5 not always the same in every period. Monitoring using the Air Pollutant Standard Index (ISPU) to control the quality of air pollution is carried out to determine whether the air quality in an area is classified as safe or not, especially for people who have outdoor activities. In this study, PM2.5 concentration data, windspeed, temperature and relative humidity data were used in South Tangerang for June – August 2021. The data then processed spatially and temporally to determine the characteristics of the distribution of PM2.5 in South Tangerang on unhealthy days and months based on ISPU, and how the condition of meteorological parameters when ISPU conditions are unhealthy to dangerous. The results of this study indicate that July is the unhealthiest month with 17 unhealthy days (54.8%). The PM2.5 distribution pattern is high to exceed the quality standard in the evening until the morning (22:00 – 09:00 WIB) and low in the afternoon until the evening (10:00 – 17:00). The areas with the highest PM2.5 concentration are Jelupang and Serpong Utara. Weather conditions when PM2.5 is high on unhealthy days indicate that the wind speed range is < 1 m/s, humidity is between 80 – 96%, and temperature is at 23 - 26C.
