When waves enter shallow marine waters, there is a peak in wave amplitude or amplification. Wave amplification needs to be taken into account because it is related to the wide inundation area on the coast. One example of amplification that is easy to observe is the shoaling phenomenon, which is an increase of wave amplitude due to reduced seawater depth. The shoaling phenomenon does not occur when the seabed is flat. In this thesis, the spectral method is applied to simulate various cases of wave propagation; using the transport equation, the 1-dimensional and 2-dimensional linear Shallow Water Equations (SWE). Various cases of wave propagation on flat seabed have been successfully simulated, namely transport wave propagation; 1-dimensional standing-wave simulation, and N-wave; as well as 2-dimensional N-wave propagation.
