Description
Summary:The tomato plant is an annual plant whose fruit is widely consumed by Indonesians. Consumption of tomatoes in Indonesia has increased in synergy with the population. The projection of the balance of production and consumption of tomatoes shows that Indonesia will still have a deficit in production towards consumption in the coming year, therefore increasing tomato production is necessary to cover this deficit. Agricultural intensification is one solution that can be done by selecting varieties and using the right fertilizer concentration. The selection of Larisa variety, which is a hybrid variety with high yield, good and uniform fruit quality, and suitable for planting in the low-medium lands, is expected to increase tomato production in Indonesia. The use of liquid organic fertilizers is one option to reduce the use of inorganic fertilizers which can cause land degradation if used continuously. However, proper concentration is needed so that the cultivation process can take place more effectively and efficiently. The purpose of this study was to obtain the best concentration of Generative PSBN liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of hybrid tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) Larisa variety. The research design was prepared based on a randomized block design with a treatment of Generative PSBN liquid organic fertilizer (POC) concentration consisting of four levels, namely control or without POC (K0), POC 2.5 mL / L (K1), POC 5 mL / L (K2), and POC 7.5 mL / L (K3) with six repetitions. The results of the study showed that the difference in the concentration of Generative PSBN liquid organic fertilizer on the hybrid tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) Larisa variety only had a significant effect on the variable shoot dry weight, root dry weight, fruit diameter, and flesh thickness. K3 treatment (7.5 mL / L) was able to produce shoot dry weight and root dry weight higher than other treatments, and K2 treatment (5 mL / L) was able to produce fruit diameter and flesh thickness higher than other treatments.
