Summary:Tourism activities in villages containing traditional values, cultural attractions, and other traditional elements become their value, and tourist attractions which become a tool to conserve and revive traditions. traditional architecture also becomes the mainstay of tourism villages besides culture, crafts, and performing arts that unique to each region. To develop a tourism village, the perception of tourists can be considered input for stakeholders. This research aims to analyze tourists' perception and motivation towards traditional architecture in tourism villages. There are two research areas due to different perceptions of the tourism village characteristic and uses of traditional architecture. There are located in the Pasanggrahan and Pasir Eurih which has a tourist center around Kampung Tajur and Kampung Sindangbarang with the attraction of traditional Sundanese buildings and traditions. The method used is questionnaire to 120 tourists who had visited tourism villages in Indonesia, using a Likert scale and short entries to determine tourist perceptions and motivations of traditional architecture as an attraction in tourism villages. The analytical methods are frequency analysis, cross-tabulation analysis, and descriptive analysis. Tourist perceptions of traditional architecture are influenced by internal factors which are dominated by adventure, studying the authenticity of nature and culture and a positive image of tourism village. In the study, internal factors that appear to influence tourists are that there are different atmospheres with where they live and the sacred factor in tourism villages. Furthermore, external factors are the attractiveness of the tourism village itself in the form of traditional buildings that are unique and different from modern buildings, natural building materials in the form of wood, palm fiber, and bamboo, as well as various traditional building models. The environment around the tourism village as a backdrop for traditional buildings has a good impression if the environment is beautiful or there are many trees around it and the building is neatly arranged, has communal space, access roads, and the distance between buildings, as well as a rural atmosphere and a nostalgic impression found in tourism villages.
