Description
Summary:The study area is located at 823865 – 827977 mE dan 9653722 – 9658725 mS UTM coordinate, Simpang Pesak District, East Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Province. The aims of this research are to determine the potential areas of tin and rare earth elements in placer deposits and to provide recommendations for further exploration stages. The research uses primary data such as rock samples and placer deposit samples. The analysis of the placer deposits sample was divided into three-grain size fractions, #48 fraction (297-354 ?m), #100 fraction (149 ?m), and -100 fraction (<149 ?m). Geochemical data from placer deposit concentrate and rock samples analyzed by using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) Portable to determine the content value of tin and rare earth elements. Univariate statistic analysis is performed to determine anomaly value based on the content value of tin and rare earth elements. Mineral content in placer deposit samples can be identified by using Grain Counting Analysis (GCA). The rare earth elements that were found in the study area including yttrium, cerium, and lantanum. Tin with high content distributed in the southern part and some in the middle of the study area. REE with high content distributed in the middle of the study area. The tin and REE anomalies area concentrated in old alluvial placer deposits. There are three factors that affect the presence of these anomalies area such as forming process, source rocks, and morphology of the enrichment area. Further exploration can be done from the western part towards the southeast and then heading to the north towards the granite area.
